Is there a write-up for this? (was: 134a conversionupdate)-venturing OT...

Hey, I represent that. :)
Believe it or not, I actually tried to corner Patrick several times
to get to ask him this
question, but we never managed to discuss it. There are so many
things I'd like to get
going on our site, this is just one of them. :) I'd like to post
specific links in the tech
section to specific pieces of info on other peoples site.
I have one big HOWEVER though:
Many many sites, including Patricks, have a nasty habit of
disappearing of the net for
a time, or even permanently, and it can be problematic to appear to
have content
available and it's really not. Witness the last time our site got
blasted after a router
upgrade which blew out everything except the front page.
What I might rather do (which is one thing I've been planning) is to
have people like
Patrick maintain a portion of scirocco.org as a mirror of what he's
putting up on his
own site, that way, it will always be available and he doesn't have
to be worried about
moving his site affecting others. (for instance).
