electrical problem

took evil out for a spin today, first time it's left the garage in at least 
6 months. anyway, started getting some funky electrical problems. first- car 
needs to be jumped every time it starts. has a new battery
       (purchased today)and a newer alternator(which tested fine when
       battery was purchased).
second-lights don't work. they worked fine when i pulled her out, but
       she had nothing. checked fuses, changed relays and now the pass.
       side parking light comes on and thats it, no other lights.
any ideas? i hate tracing electrical problems! BTW, the headlights are the 
stock u.s. type.  tia
