I've found a ? CheapAss (TM) way to replace those damned front speakers. =
I spent months trial fitting all the 4x6 from Pioneer, Infinity, and =
other at Circuit city and Best buy (no hassle returns). Because of this =
my research was limited. Some listers have given me leads but those =
weren't easily accesible to me.
Here's what I ended up doing.
Cost $12.99 per side> These are the "Linear Research" 4x6 available a =
Pep Boys. I bought a pair and used cutting pliers to nib out all the =
excess metal around the sides. I also removed some of the cardboard =
around the cone.=20
This is not the optimal solution as you can tell. The sound is =
tolerable. For me it's quite an improvement over the long thrashed =
"pyles" that were in there. This is but a stop gap measure.
Hope this is of use to someone.
Andre
