Steering wheel q's

I really like my stock steering wheel in my 88 16v, but I'm a bit beefy
in the leg's and we all know the problems with the seats not going low
enough for some of us tall people.  I really don't want to hack the
seats so I'm looking for suggestions (slightly cheapass) for a smaller
wheel that won't rub in my legs when I really need to make a quick turn.
