body work

Not that this would only work on Sciroccos... but is it possible to arrive 
at a body shop with my damaged rocco and a sacrificial non-running one and 
have them chop off the needed area from the donor and re-weld the piece to 
my car?  The woes of my rear driver's side panel are still ongoing, and 
trying to figure out the cheapest way of getting a clean body back on.

Anybody try this before, rocco or not?
