Help! Need advice on slight bogging at 3000 rpm

I have an idea about this, or maybe Rolling Roc is suffering the same
problem. Yesterday I had a pro finally sort out my drivability problems. It
turned out to be an incorrectly adjusted fuel distributor plunger. Anyway
the car is running so nicely now that I'm able to feel other things and on
my drive last night (what a joy). I thought I was able to feel the knock
sensor retard the advance at times. It happened when in a high (too high)
gear and pulling. Slightly pulling it was the most discernable When pulling
hard it was hard to detect but was there. When in a more appropriate gear
there was no reduction of performance. I burn 92 + octane but these are the
exact conditions that produce detonation and consequently the activation of
the knock sensor system to retard the advance.

I've solved the problem by reprogramming the driver... perfect cheapass (tm)
solution.
