Cutting springs
Mabye this is just me but everything I've heard about cutting springs has
been bad. Why don't you just drop a couple hundred bucks and pick up some
H&R's or something on ebay and do it right?

i cut the springs in an mk1 i had with a regular old hacksaw. worked just
fine. i used a little "u" clamp to hold the spring to the strut assembly
then. good luck.......
