Its really about underestimating torqueas well as power to weight ratios.
HP is not everything yet it seems to be the guidelines of most of the
automotive enthusiasts. 

A M1 tank has 2500 HP yet my 89hp Scirocco can whup its ass in the 1/4
mile. How can that be?? Oh my. uh-huh.
