A2 Blocks w/ A1 Motor Mounts

Folks I am going to be pulling and retro fitting an A2 GTI long block
this weekend. My question (excuse me, I can't remember the motor model
#; 86 8v Golf GTI, 10:1) is:

- Do original A1 motor mounts fit the A2 block without adaptation?

My gut feeling is Of Course! but I'm not sure where the cut off is
before things get complicated. A3? A4?   Hmmmm, Peace be with &
