Definitely, that's what I meant by draining it...

How else can you drain it without fÜkken things up? ;^)

If you decide to pull the reservoir, I'd replace the grommets, they can
rip when you remove the M/cyl.

Btw, what kind of warranty, do the new Volkswagens come with?
