Yes and no (I learned a lesson).  The light assembly can be removed from 
the back of the unit.  On each side of the remaining piece, there are two 
plastic clips that hold the unit in place.  If you - gently - move them 
aside, the whole unit will slide off.  Its held in place on two metal clips 
attached to the window itself.   Take a good look at it with a flashlight 
and you'll figure it out.  You can buy a replacement from Potterman, BTW :).
