Idle control valve messed up?

Ok, thanks for all your help with my 16v's brake problems.  I have another 
problem that seems to be much worse.  It has happened twice now.  Im 
drivning along and i come to a stop.  The idle drops way way way! down and 
then jumps back up. It then proceds to idle at like 500 rpm, smooth, but 
just very very low.  When i gas it, it makes a very obveous bogging sound 
and if i rev it fast, it does not do anything.  When i take off from a 
stoplight with the car idling like this, it has NO power at all, i floor it 
and it feels like im driving a yougo!
Is it a faulty idle control valve?  Fuel injectors?  Clogged cat?  (i almost 
think my cat is hollow, but ive never checked)  AHHH!  i gotta get this car 
in good running driving shape!  Or this will be the SECOND summer in a row 
that it shits the bed at the end of the summer!  Im NOT takin my sis's car 
to dyno day again!!  And i AM gonna show this car in the VT show!  damnit 
damnit damnit
