That's normal on the bonded rubber strut mounts...
What brand are they?
The urethane strut mounts are the only way, that I know of, to fix the
slop...
Btw, the A2 rear upper strut rubber covers, fit the Febi-Bilstein front
strut mount crack, that you have discovered.
