  Sounds like you are using an open-end wrench.  Try a box-end wrench or a
sensor socket.  Use plenty of (real)penetrating oil and let it soak for
several hours.  Try tapping the sensor, as it's soaking, with a small tool.

I am working on the exhaust of my '88 16v, and no matter what I do, I
can not get the O2 sensor out of the cat! Am I missing something? Is
it reverse threaded or something? I just sheared two corners of the
big bolt around the bottom of the damned thing, so if I don't figure
out what the problem is soon, it is going to be stuck for good!
Please help







The goal is to overcome the deliberate nature of the process.
