RE: Smog Test = GROSS POLLUTER




Theron, you have the right thinking here.

CIS needs someone with a Exhaust Gas analyzer to properly tune it...once
set it is usually good for a couple of years.  I worked with my mechanic
to tune it, basically, we found it ran best a little rich, but burned
cleanest a little lean.  Made a few marks on the fuel dist for setting the
screw.  I turn it to the lean mark for tests, and turn it back afterwards
for best running.   Now understand I am at 5000ft, so your tuning may be
different.  I would punch the cat out first, and see if you can tune it
clean.
