Nope, wont pass. Then again, you could get some complete dork sho doesnt
know what he's looking at but, for the most part, the training to be SMOG
certified is quite intensive (and expensive) and they will likely know
what's - what.

Doesnt matter UNLESS you live in an uncorporated areas (like in so-cal,
areas near Descanso) dont require a smog test or inspection of any kind.
IM MOVING!

Technically, NOTHING. You can get away with a 2.0L 16v motor. Looks just
like a 1.8L.
The only way around the mods are to install the turbo stuff (whatever
setup you want.) and drive it for a year. Then on your year to smog,
convert it back to stock for the test. After the test, back toturbo mode.
Its a huge PITA. Im content with just swapping out the cam and header
every couple years.
The only other way is like I said above, move to an uncorporated area. I
bet there is a list somewhere. I just happen to know that descanso is
smog exempt because I used to work up there. We never smogged anything. I
even built a badass 366ci V8 for our truck fleet which would NEVER pass
smog but would haul the shit out of anything, anywhere.
My dads GF lives up there, maybe I put in a change of address for
DMV..... hmm....... Turbo here I come!
