Re: 2.0 and annoying car problems
I had a similar problem where my car would run fine some times and then
randomly would die on me. I finally noticed that after my car died i tried
to start it again and I could not hear the pump buzzing. This was because
the main pump is lubricated by fuel and I guess the pump had gotten so old
that there was too much friction so even though the pump was getting power
it was not pumping.
I replaced the main Pump and the problem was solved.
Not sure if you tired or not but in the Bently it outlines how to test your
Transfer pump(intank one). Next time it dies listen to see of you can still
hear the main pump working.
There is a ground cable that goes from the coil mounting thingy to the back
of the head, this might be what the wire you found is.
