Bulb Question

Alright I need to know

on H4 Bulbs there are 2 filaments
which one is the one that turns one when the low beam is on and the
high beam is on.?

My h4's has a forward filament with what looks like a small cup
beneath it followed by another filament . one turns one when high
beams are on and the other when low beams are on.. Yes I am trying
to figure out my wiring to my euro's..
