You are correct sir!!  4.11's are good ol' boy drag
gears.  Most U.S. junk comes with 3.76's or something
like that for our wonderful cross country highways and
byways.  Higher #'s = lower gears= quicker
acceleration.  With the whole jetta/GTi issue, weight
is only one factor.  You also have to look at weight
distribution, torque & HP curves(computer programing),
ect.  Hypotheticly though, the jetta should out
accelerate, the GTI should be a highway hauler.
