RE: Funk on Da list!! (Long)

I think folks need to relax about this whole topic. I'm not advocating that
the thread be dropped, mind you. I just think that a hardline quest to purge
inaccuracies and slightly commercial content is foolhardy at best. As it is,
the list offers a fine concentration of Scirocco-related discussion. People
enjoy a level of kinship that can not be easily found on any other email
forums. We bicker from time to time but are a relatively efficient
self-policing group.

What is the big deal if a little bad advice gets out there every now and
then? This is like real life. There are always conflicting stories. Unlike
real life, however, there is nearly always somebody wiser or better informed
to set the record straight. So long as the truth comes out, isn't it all
good? It would be a real tragedy if people grew suddenly conservative and
waited for some recognized group of "experts" to post. How many are there
around here? -maybe ten out of 300?

So long as people are here for fellowship and to learn, I think that it is
best that we take a chill pill and just enjoy the company as it is. As for
little advertisment tag lines, those should be prohibited right along the
same time that quoting entire previous emails is "legally" banned. Why is it
offensive when somebody's email sig says "Authorized Widget Dealer"? Case in
point, I advertise my rally team (a corporate entity) and my car club. Is
anybody offended? Come on; get a grip.

Let's enforce the warm spirit of the law -not the cold letter of it, eh?.
