Radiator upgrade/compatibility for MK1
Like the subject says. I have the one that came with the 79 (no A/C) it's a
little guy. The one from the 16v donor (w/A/C) is bigger but I'm not sure
how it will fit in the '79. Also the black cardboard bafling on each side
of the rad support will have to come out. (no prob). SO, while I am at it,
is there a better way to go for max cooling capacity. No A/C will be in
this car so the stock 16v will probly be a good increase here. How to
attach it in there is the Q. I have "pins" that set on thick rubber
bushings as it is now on the rad suppport at just a hair over 26" but the
bottom of the 16v rad also has pins but at 29 1/4" . Should I just drill
the rad support and eye-ball the placement?
I saw a link for a dual fan set up from a early Passat I might try later.
