Timing / Cooling problems - I have no other life



What does this mean:
-cold start, coolant level is slightly below "cold" line.
-warmed up, normal level if not slightly above "warm" line.
-shutdown, coolant level rises and sometimes overflows.

What I'm afraid of is that I'm getting too much pressure
(i.e. bad headgasket) which would reaaallly upset me
considering I just DID the headgasket on this car last
week.

Also if anyone has some tips on timing a 2.0 with Motronic,
e-mail me.  It has a mind of its own.

Can anyone tell that I'm pretty fed up with working on
cars?  I literally have no other life.  It's getting more
than a little aggravating.
