Re: New head gasket?



Try jumpering the plug for the fan switch. if the fan comes on then you are 
not getting enough circulation through the radiator. this can be caused by 
plugged channels in the radiator or too much cooling system pressure causing 
the coolant not to circulate properly. too much cooling system pressure can 
be caused by a seeping headgasket allowing combustion gasses to enter the 
coolant passages.

Now, if your fan does NOT come on whilst bypassing the switch then you have 
another problem. As someone mentioned earlier that you might have corroded 
wires ging to the relay on the fan shroud. this is very common. Batteries 
leak acid on the wires and they become brittle and will break.
