Re: Hydraulic e-brake?
Here's some info that I grabbed from a rally message board a few weeks ago.
Not too much detail, but it may give you some starting point. I havnt
looked into it too much, so I dont really know anything more than what is
below.
"Start by figuring that you are going to re-plumb the rear brakes to be fed
with a single line. (OK, yeah you could use two parallel lines, but lets
start simple) You'll need a master cylinder that has a single AN fitting
for the resevoir (inlet) and a single AN fitting for the outlet. The line
running from the footbrake to the rear cylinders will act as the input to
the e-brake master cylinder. The e-brake's outlet will feed on back to the
wheel cylinders. When the e-brake is not activated, the fluid just passes
through the e-brake when the foot brake is applied. When the e-brake is
activated, it drives the rear wheel cylinders. I'll leave it up to you to
decide how to actually work the piston on the e-brake master cylinder."
Hope this helps!
