lowering compression ratio for turbo

Back in the day, I saw an article in European Car
where a guy simply installed two head gaskets, one on
top of the other, to lower compression for his turbo
installation. Is this a safe practice? Has anyone had
experience with this?

Leaning slightly more towards forced aspiration every
day,
