Well, leave it to the bureaucracy of the US to make things difficult. 
I looked at bringing a late-model Passat from Canada, for gosh's 
sakes, and it's WAY more difficult than it needs to. (A G60 Syncro, 
FYI).

-You have to install the passive restraint belt system
-You have to install the big knee bars
-You have to install a cluster that reads in MPH.

The last one is no biggie, but the passive restraints are a big PITA.
