stalling/near stalling
I know several people have asked about this over the last few months:
I finally discovered the reason my 16V sometimes stalls at stoplight, other
times it NEARLY stalls with the idle "hunting" for a bit before finally
settling down. How I found it is a long story, too long to repeat, but the
cause was a completely plugged idle air bleed passage in the throttle-body.
It was clogged with the same thick, sticky oil deposits that coat the inside
of the throttle-body and the fuel meter-to-TB duct.
All it took was some carb cleaner and...wa-la...perfect idling every time!
It also seems to start much quicker when semi-cold (80-90deg air
temps/engine cold). I love that car!!! It is running perfectly and
...everything works!! (now, if it just had another 100ft/lbs of torque)
