RE: Eureka! T-bodies the *cheapass way*
Assuming that the G60 management system works well enough, I'll spend that
$1740 (where'd ya get $2k from?) to get approximately 210hp. That means that
I'm spending about $38 to get each hp. That's a lot! However, compare it to
a ported head for... say... $800. If that nets a gain of 15hp, then you're
paying $53 for each of them, for instance. Turbo is another option, but (as
I mentioned before) that increases complexity and weight. The reliability
will be compromised, too. The turbo is substantially more economical than
the t-bodies if you start with a stock motor, however.
Folks, how about listing some bang for the buck modifications for 8v and 16v
motors. That would be a great thread, I think. Let's just agree on a means
of comparison. I chose dollars/hp because you end up with whole numbers
rather than wierd fractions.
