It appears to have come to their attention because they hired a firm
to hunt down people infringing on their trademark and copyrights. I
would assume they are probably just plugging along emailing every
site that does not have express permission to use the logo. In the
best case, they just want to make sure that all these sites make it
clear that they are in no way officially associated with VW. In the
worst case, they don't want to let anyone use the logo anymore.







The goal is to overcome the deliberate nature of the process.
