RE: vibrations
If the supplimentary cross member stiffens the structure, it will increase
transmitted vibrations. Trust me. :) (...I'm done.)

Stiffer mounts will transmit more vibrations to the chassis than absorb
and cancel them out. Follow?
New mounts will decrease the vibrations by restoring engine/tranny
position in a way that the mount is isolated from the chassis.
