Re: Front cross member braces from Ron Wood

I agree. The front cross member brace will promote cockpit vibration
(although very little). I certainly don't care about vibration because I am
way past the point of smoothness with my Scirocco.

The reason the stiffer cars of today are quieter on the road is because of
improved quality/technology of motor mounts and sound absorbtion material.
They are also built increasingly heavier. Heavier cars, by nature, and
regardless of stiffness, are quieter.

Any extra vibration this brace might cause, however slight, is offset by its
potential benefits. If you want performance from your Scirocco, I think it
is necessary to strengthen that cross member regardless of any vibration it
might add.
