  My rocco does the same thing, has been since I reassmbled it three years 
ago now. It does this with the alt that came with the car and the one that 
came off the donor car I pulled the power train from (78), and the light goes 
out around 1500RPM. Battery still charges, I can run the car's electricals, 
but it would probably be a good idea to swap it for a higher amp alt.
