2 piece trunk cover

Does anyone know what years/models these came on? I've only seen them on 
MKII 8v car's with blue or red or grey (the car at the PNP yesterday had a 
greyish interior) interiors. Was this an upgrade at the dealer or? How rare 
are they and how much are they worth?

It's a very cool design and much lighter than the one piece shelf.
