Re: any norcal listers going to cincy? Yes! Anybody else?
I'm so glad you asked.
It's 40+ hours @ 60 Mph.
Looks like $400 gas @ $2.00/25 avg. mpg.

Well, it _is_ fast approaching. I'm on my way out back to continue work
on the Roc. Any and all want to reply directly with what, where, who,
etc.?
btw- I am driving out from the SF Bay Area.

So, Here is my detailed Itinerary, I still need to work out the two over
nighters; one somewhere past Salt Lake and the other I had heard a
lister say they were 4 hours from Daun's.

Reprint Mode ON:
It's 2500 miles one way, 40 hours according to Mapquest. That spells out
to 2, 2+1/2 days all out driving @ average 60 mph.
(Might be able to help that out esp over such a long distance with a
higher avg. speed in the longer stretches.)
I had thought to get there on Friday sometime, hang out Saturday, do the
deed Sunday and leave early Monday AM. If it's two days Out & two days
Back that puts us home in the Bay Area sometime Wed. the 6th. (Info
about picking Kevin up from the airport deleted.)
Denver presents itself as a somewhat MidPoint stop over way station. I
am contacting SaltyWeasel in CO to see what accommodations we might be
able to scrounge up. Also, there are folks some 4 hours away from
Duan's that mentioned a place to crash with a bounce out in the morning.
(Currently looking for name and confirmation).
Figuring 25 mpg as a guess that works out to 98.264 gallons of gas each
way. Round-trip = 196.528 @ $2.00 a gallon = $393 gas cost, nominal.
(I'll be running synth in the oil & transaxle, long ratio gears, and the
84 GTI engine w/ new fuel filter.) This is the cautious but pessimistic
fuel cost so far.
btw- I am covering the cost of the hotel in Cincy.
Here is the route I made up:

(It doesn't take into account the following directions Duan sent, in
fact I just asked him to look it over and report back).
