Low angle of opportunity. The cars had to come with an O2 sensor in the
1st place. I'm thinking 80-81. Earlier cars didn't even have electronic
ignition. You are going to find the right manifold with the O2 fitting
way up high on the back side. 
 (Peek from the side, you should be able to see it poking out.)
 
Good news; diesels are usually not as hot so are less likely to have
cracks in them, makes a good mix n' match with that TT downpipe w/
fitting Peter was talking about.
