Re: tested injectors
Since I just went through very serious fuel problems on my 78....Here is
what I can say of your problems. First,...if the injectors are spraying
*without* lifting the sensor plate,....then your fuel mixture is spraying
TOO much fuel. Turn the adjustment screw to lean them back out,....once
they stop spraying,...turn 1/4 turn more. Now raise the sensor plate and
see if they spray. If so,...lower the plate and see if they drip. If they
don't ,...then you are closer to a running car. Once I got my car to this
point,....I should have measured fuel pressure. (which I couldn't because I
had no gauge,...but it was the last thing I *had* done and immediately
proved that the fuel pump was not putting out enough pressure.) I did
everything else the Bentley said Many, Many times with no luck. Finally I
changed the fuel pump with a new BOSCH unit from Adirondack and she cranked
right up.
HTH,...let me know if I can help anymore.
