Heat, or IT's Hot

So recently someone asked about engine hot air coming out the vents instead
of fresh air, and I could relate.  I think I followed most of the thread
about the "flap" not opening/closing, but I cannot find said part.  I
believe someone mentioned its near the firewall where the heat comes in.
can someone help me more specifically?  Right now I have the vents closed,
but it still seems like heat is radiating in from somewhere.

Btw, the heat works fine in the car (from the winter), I do have AC but it
is non-functioning.
