Yes...

I talked to my friend Brian Kerr, and he told me that there is a GM
service bulletin, 
that recommends dumping in Bar's Leak to stop the leaks.

I had to replace both O-rings on the water outlets on the GTI to stop the
leaks.

I'm switching back to the green stuff...
