power lock installation

To anyone that has installed their own alarm/power locks:

where and how did you mount the door lock actuator in the drivers door.
Space seems to be limited and i am not seeing a great spot for it offhand.
Also, how did you attach the pull rod to actuate the existing lock
mechanism.  There looks to be an extra hole near the original actuator, and
there is also possibly a place up higher at the pivot from the lock button.

btw, this is a 16v with central locking.
