Wiperarm Painting Q???

Finished shortening and derusting (wicked fun shooting sparks off the 
balcony as it was getting dark) my straight 82 mono wiperarm so I can use it 
on the MKII windshield with a large blade.

Now, how do I properly paint/coat this sucker... especially the small part 
on which the main arm hinges. The sides touch so there would be places not 
reachable with a brush or sprayer.

Anyone recoated their wiperarm? How'd you go about it? Could I drill out the 
pin that holds the end piece, paint both parts seperately, reattach the 
spring, and replace the pin with something (what might that be?).
