OT: '85-'88 Golf oil filter housing

Hi folks,

I'm in the process of writing up the MFA install tech procedure and I need
some quick info.  Could someone tell me if there's a plug or something on
the oil filter housing that could be removed so an oil temp. sender could
plug into it on an '85-'88 Golf/Jetta without MFA?  I seem to recall this
but I'm not totally sure...Thanks
