RE: installing transmission



Can you even bolt the transmission up if the clutch disk and pressure plate are not properly aligned?  I know on a Beetle you can't, and I don't think you could on a Scirocco either.

Not sure what you're trying to describe.  I do know, however, that the clutch will not work properly unless the clutch is aligned perfectly with the thrust plate and flywheel.  The transmission MUST be bolted all the way down evenly or you will NOT get the full clutch travel.
