150hp isn't unobtainable in a 1.8L 8V. I don't know the entire recipe
this 86 had but at the very least, he would of needed race gas.

I recently bought a used 1.8L 16v short block (beat all to crap, sound
familiar Shannon?) from Potterman. The 16V has the vast majority of its
quench area in the head. Although the tops of the pistons are relatively
flat, there is a small amount of material removed so they're not
completely flat top pistons, damn close tho. Compression determines power
so its possible.

Id guess more like 14:1. Probably high 13's to 1 CR is more realistic. Id
love to build up a motor for drag racing using these pistons. ALL factory
parts MOTOR! Sweet.

Im sure its got a few mods done to run the 16v pistons. Head work frees
up quite a lot of power gains. Cam, exhaust, ignition system (stock
wouldn't work with the motor you described.) fuel ect. These all play
into account as to what the final result in numbers will be. Anything is
possible.
