>huh? you're parting out a car because it has a bad fuel distritributor?
new one would have cost me $200. i could've gotten one from the
junkyard or the list, but there were other factors to parting out the
car other than just that. it needed some body work done to it s well as
two doors and a hood. new tires all around. everything seemed to be held
together with a screw, despite the fact that there were fasteners for
everything. one window was leaking because of the rust. there was a
squirrel in the wiring (butt connectors EVERYWHERE). it appeared to have
been in an accident as there was overspray in the trunk and the front
bumper was mashed in. oh, and nice big burn holes in the back seat. it
COULD have been fixed up, but it would've taken some time and money. i
have one, not the other. that, plus the price i payed for it i can
easily make parting it out and i know that there are many other
sciroccos out there that would benefit from this one's untimely demise.
don't think i made the decision lightly. i would have preferred to do
the work and get it on the road, but with the way the previous owner
took care of the car, i could only do so much before it became a
completely different car. as it is, it will live on in other vehicles.
