suspension setup

Hi everyone,

     I was wondering if anyone uses Bilstein shocks  in conjunction with 
their oem springs.  I have a 87 16V, and found my strut cartridges are 
leaking.  It seemed to be a good excuse to buy some new shocks and struts, 
and I went ahead and ordered the Bilstein sports, not the Heavy duty.  I 
don't have the money now to upgrade the springs (hopefully I'll get the 
H&R's later this summer), so I was curious if anyone ran this setup.  Any 
help is appreciated.
