No kidding, Sodium is an alkali metal, amongst the most strongly reactive
substances on the peroidic table.

More sodium trivia, it's density is less than the density of water, compared
with aluminum which is about three times water's density, and titanium which
is about 4 1/2 times water's density (and about half that of steel) Does it's
incredible lightness have any impact on its use (the cooling function is
obviously the main thing since it is not used in the cooler intake valves)
