You can hook up the radio any way you want. When I get
around to it, I plan to have it so that it works when
the key is in the ignition, but not just in the
ignition on position (bad to have power to the
ignition/fuel pump for no reason).

This way I can sit in my car, tilt the seat back, and
get lost in the music and my machine . . .

And if I'm stupid and forget to turn it off, I'm
usually not stupid enough to leave the key in the car
. . .

(I said usually)
