You're going to have to look at the little plastic piece that sits between 
the fat end of the hoodrelease cable and the metal bar/hook that holds the 
hood pin in, and see if it's still in one piece (if it isn't the cable 
slides through the hook and doesn't push it.

If that's broken, then you need to replace it, otherwise you might have some 
slack in your cable - you can undo the screwed on piece on the left side and 
adjust the slack on the line to see if that helps.
