I agree with you Rob 100%.  If we all likes the same things we will would
still be driving black Model T Fords..  How would it be if we all were in
love with the same gal or liked exactly the same food or beer.

I don't know... I have lots of friends with ryce burners... and
frankly.. At the bottom of it all.. they just enjoy their cars.  They
enjoy modifying them, they enjoy showing them off to their friends with
like passions, and they (at least the one i know) enjoy driving them.
When they get together, they all look at each others cars, and check out
who has done what to which car, and how they got some part to look the
way it does, and how the stereo fit in whatever crevice someone fit it.
And when I look at what happens when I got together with some 'roc
fans..we all did the same stuff.. granted, our idea of cool was 2.0
liter blocks, and TT exhaust components.. but the backing was the same.
Just a bunch of guys and gals who care alot about their cars.  Yup, I
love beating them down the road just as much as the next guy.. but at
the same time, (and maybe I am alone in this regard) I enjoy seeing what
ideas they have come up with.
I too saw a pre-screening of the Fast and the Furious... (which did by
the way have an A3 Jetta.. though it got it's ass kicked by a honda
S2000) and frankly, I saw some cool sh*t.  Someone had mounted NOS
bottles under the passenger seat, accessible by flipping the bottom seat
cushion up from the back.. it was pretty damn cool.. would I put NOS
there? hell no... BUT.. it seemed like a kick ass place to put the
crossovers for my component speakers..and would look pretty cool to
anyone I showed it to..
My point? I don't know.. feel free to bash Ryce for not being what you
enjoy.. but try and understand that all it is is a bunch of people who
care about their cars as much as we do and are trying to have fun and
impress their friends.  And who knows.. maybe you'll get a cool idea for
something for your own car by taking a closer look at theirs..(ok, minus
the crazy red covered intakes  ;)

Just my thoughts, I call 'em as I see 'em..
