RE: Fuba Q - Fubared?
Sounds like a toasted amplifier. Someone had posted how to bypass the amp
awhile back. I don't remember who or how. The amp, unfortunately, is located
at the base of the antenna. Bypassing/repairing it requires headliner
surgery. I believe the new model that Potterman sells has the amp up near
the head unit where it plugs in. Mine has the same prob.

Subject: Fuba Q - Fubared?
My dumb brother (from whom I shamelessy stole the name
Victor) has the same problem with his Fuba (on '87 GLI
16V) that I do...poor AM, fine FM. Both stereos in
question work fine with non-amplified antenna
substituted for troubleshooting.
Bentley doesn't address this. Anyone with experience?
Poor grounding at the antenna? Bad antennta stalk?
Just plain FUBAred? Any solutions incorporating a
rooftop antenna, amplified or not?
TIA,
=====
